Dr. Richard Kagel is an emeritus university professor with teaching specialties in marketing communications and motivational research methods. He has extensive work experience with several advertising agencies and was manager of corporate advertising for Shell Oil Company.
He completed graduate work and teaching at Fairfield University, Columbia Pacific University, and Michigan State University. He was chairman of the business advertising copy research committee for the Advertising Research Foundation in New York City and has been a finalist judge for the American Marketing Association’s annual advertising performance (EFFIE) awards.
Dr. Kagel has appeared as an expert witness, testifying about the effects of marketing communications in major legal cases. His work in experimental communications performance testing and motivational research has been presented at a variety of conferences including Advertising Research Foundation sessions, Utah Information and Technology (UITA) Conferences, American Marketing Association gatherings and at the SAMRA annual convention.
He has over 20 years experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative studies. He built the market research department for Nu Skin International. Brand planning and communication research are specialties.
